Meet Joker, a less than a year old playful and mischievous mixed breed pup in need of a very particular home. Good Samaritans brought him to the Quincy Animal Shelter with little information about the circumstances. At first he was understandably nervous, volunteers could not get a collar or a harness on him, he still does not like being touched around his neck until he trusts, he may growl or give warning air snaps. Volunteers refused to give up, they were all patient and loving, some volunteers he has attached himself quite nicely, while others still haven’t made progress. We have found that he thrives in the presence of an older, mature dog who can show him the ropes on how to dog. He still needs lots of training, understanding, socialization and plenty of extra patience.
