Sandra began volunteering at Quincy Animal Shelter in August 1999. She has held several positions, including Canine Manager, Adoption Manager, Shelter Director, Foster Mom, Scoop Editor and Board Member. Since 2019, she has served as the President of the Board of Directors.
For Sandra, volunteering at QAS has been a life changing experience. She sees the shelter as a valuable resource to be accessed by the entire community. Saving as many animals as we can. Helping humans during difficult times and making sure our volunteers know that they are valued and appreciated.
Since 2001, Sandra has worked as an Auto Claims Manager for Quincy Mutual Group. She recently earned her Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution from the McCormick School of Government at UMass Boston. She also spent many years working as a photographer.
Although Sandra has lived most of her life in North Quincy, she currently resides in Pembroke with her super supportive husband, Marty, her two amazing dogs and five crazy cats.
Lynn has served as a volunteer dog walker at Quincy Animal Shelter since 2018 and has been involved in many QAS fundraising events over the years. She is an avid animal lover, with a special place in her heart for all dogs.
Lynn is an attorney who practices in the areas of estate planning and estate administration and is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, Florida and New Hampshire. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross, a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, a Master of Business Administration from Suffolk University’s Sawyer School of Management, and a Master of Laws in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law.
Lynn lives in North Quincy with her two rescued Chihuahuas, Samantha and Charlie.
Bill Sempolinski has been a QAS Board member since 2006 and is curently the Board Treasurer. Bill's duties include dealing with all tax and financial matters. He is a prior Advisory Board member of the Boys and Girls Club of South Boston.
Bill has been a small business owner in the greater Boston area for the last 30+ years.
Lastly, Bill has been volunteering at QAS since 2006 because it is encouraging to work with a very dedicated, thoughtful, motivated and hardworking group of individuals.
Lianne Busa serves on Quincy Animal Shelter's Board of Directors and is also the Recording Secretary. She is responsible for the monthly meeting agendas, meeting minutes and annual MA government filings. Lianne started volunteering at QAS in feline care in September 2019 and she still spends her Saturday mornings caring for the cats. Lianne was elected to the QAS Board of Directors in 2021.
In addition, Lianne Busa is Vice President in Proposal Development for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. In this fulltime role, she manages Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Endowments & Foundations, with the focus on philanthropic services. Lianne earned her Bachelor’s degree from Roger Williams University and is currently enrolled in the Boston University Professional Fundraising Program. Lianne spends her spare time with her Yorkie-Poo, fur baby, Abby.
Emily Duff serves as Events Manager on Quincy Animal Shelter's Board of Directors. She has been a volunteer dog walker at QAS for 15 years. Emily is an interior designer/spatial planner and runs her own design business. She has a degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts and a master’s degree in arts and Entertainment Management from Columbia College Chicago. She also studied briefly at the Boston Architectural Center.
Emily adopted her best friend, a Boston terrier she named Sookie, from QAS in 2010. In 2020 she adopted a senior cat from QAS, named Molly, during the Covid pandemic to join her other senior cat, Mezzy, at home. Animals are her favorite thing.
Georgia D. Clifford is currently working in healthcare administration at Beth Israel Lahey Health. Additionally, she is an MPA candidate at Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School.
Prior to that, Ms. Clifford worked for Governor Charles D. Baker for 7+ years in various capacities, most recently as his Senior Deputy Director of Boards and Commissions. During the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic, Clifford was hand-selected by the Governor’s Senior Staff to lead the Governor’s PPE Procurement Vetting Team and assisted the Commonwealth in procuring millions of pieces of PPE to front-line workers throughout the Commonwealth.
Ms. Clifford is a strong proponent of public service. She recently completed a fellowship for the Women’s Public Leadership Network. She also served as a State Partner to the Pocketbook Project where she was responsible for assisting women running for public office. She also volunteers locally in Quincy, MA as a committee member on the Adams Presidential Center Advisory Committee.
Ms. Clifford earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2016 from Suffolk University in Political Science where she was also honored as a ‘10 under 10’ honoree for making significant contributions in her field and in the community.
Ms. Clifford is a Swampscott, MA native but currently resides in Quincy, MA with her husband and 2 rescue dogs, “Beans” and “Beau.”
Meghan Sisk is a longtime animal lover and advocate who has been fortunate to have served as a volunteer for a number of international animal advocacy organizations. With her passion for environmental voluntourism, she has volunteered in China, Thailand, East Africa, the Caribbean as well as within the United States.
Meghan is a skilled professional with a background in law and administration, having gained experience in both private and public sectors. Currently, she holds the position of HR Executive Operations Administrator for the Human Resources Division at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In this role, she manages HR operations for various Commonwealth departments, supervises a call center catering to thousands of employees in the Executive Branch, and oversees the administration of specific statewide programs. Before assuming her current role, Meghan occupied several senior positions within the Commonwealth and also practiced law in the private sector with a focus on civil litigation.
In her spare time Meghan enjoys traveling, voluntourism and spending time with her husband and three dogs, including a precocious English Bulldog named Atticus.
Mike Daley is a long-time animal lover who wanted to make a difference in animal welfare by joining the QAS Board in early 2024.
Mike has extensive experience working directly with nonprofits in his role as a Senior Portfolio Manager focused on nonprofit clients for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Mike’s client base includes universities, secondary schools, social service / healthcare organizations, and private foundations. Mike works directly with his clients to design, implement, and actively-manage their investment portfolios while also providing counsel on best practices regarding investment policy creation, asset allocation, and manager selection. He received a bachelor’s degree with a major in finance from the University of Vermont and a master’s degree of business administration from the University of Maryland.
Mike lives in Weymouth with his two teenage children (and two dogs - Cali and Luna). In his free time Mike enjoys golf, live music, and occasionally watching humorous TikTok videos.
Samantha has always been a passionate advocate for animal welfare. Her dedication to animals began in childhood and has grown into a lifelong commitment. Samantha’s experience in animal rescue work reflects her deep-rooted love and compassion for animals.
Samantha earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, summa cum laude, from Westfield State University in 2015, where she was recognized for excellence in the study of management. Transitioning into a career in banking, Samantha spent eight years in the industry, most recently as an Assistant Community Banking Officer. During her banking career, she received several awards for excellence in leadership, service, and initiative, and volunteered in her local communities working in grant review and neighborhood revitalization.
In addition to her professional achievements, Samantha spent three years working with a small foster-based rescue where she fostered over a dozen dogs and served as an adoption coordinator and foster home manager, giving her hands-on experience working to improve the lives of rescued animals.
Continuing her academic journey, Samantha attended Syracuse University College of Law, graduating in 2023. During law school, she was on the Dean’s List, worked in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, and was elected class senator. Samantha is currently an attorney at Donohoe Law, P.C. in Marshfield, MA.
Samantha resides in South Weymouth with her partner and their rescue beagle, Pepper, who truly rules the household.
