Jackie-Dupe

Jackie was surrendered to us as her owner moves frequently and felt Jackie would be happier in a more stable environment. We did senior bloodwork on her, as we do all our seniors that come to the shelter, and she is hyperthyroid. That requires a pill that you can put in her food and the medicine is very inexpensive. She is doing well, and we will do another check-up at the vet in a couple of weeks to make sure her thyroid meds are the correct dose; however, she is ready to find her forever home. She is friendly, playful, and affectionate, although please do not touch her tummy!  She will tolerate being held but would rather sit beside you or in your lap. She lived with a dog who she ignored or hid from. Normally she was OK with other cats, but her last feline roommate bullied her so she now growls and hisses at other kitties, although that behavior may right itself with a relaxed and chill feline roommate in a home setting. Jackie likes to dig in plants so you would have to put your green friends someplace she cannot access. She likes her scratching posts and does use them. She is accustomed to being brushed and having her nails trimmed.
