Jackie-adopted

Jackie is a volunteer favorite as she is so sweet. She was surrendered to us as her owner moves frequently and felt Jackie would be happier in a more stable environment. She is friendly, playful, and affectionate, although please do not touch her tummy – a girl must have some privacy! She would prefer to sit beside you rather than be held. She lived with a dog who she ignored or hid from, so a laid-back canine might be acceptable to her. Another friendly feline might be OK after proper introductions – her last feline roommate was not nice, so Jackie learned to be hissy to other kitties, although prior to that she was fine with feline roommates. Jackie likes to dig in plants so you would have to put your green friends someplace she cannot access. She likes her scratching posts, so a nice long one for her to stretch and use would be most appreciated by her. This lovely lady also likes being brushed and is used to getting her nails done, so grooming is appreciated. Her bloodwork indicates she is hyperthyroid; this is common with kitties of a certain age (she is 11 but you would never guess it) and requires a pill that you can put in her food; the medicine is very inexpensive. Jackie would enjoy snuggling up to you while you read a good book.
