Shadow has had quite the ride lately. She was found in a Have-A-Heart trap after being abandoned by her owner. Then she found herself at the Shelter. She's still a bit scared, but hopefully Shadow will realize that not all people are so careless and that a warm and loving forever home awaits her. She has made progress from when she first arrived and with continued patient effort and attention, she will blossom. Shadow needs a quiet home with someone willing to give her all the time she needs in order to trust. Shadow is 9-1/2 years old.

This friendly lady was surrendered as her former owner was moving and couldn't take her along. She definitely has the right name. She loves to be with you, adores attention, and is as sweet as can be. Sugar is one of those cats who will be ready and waiting to greet you morning, noon and night, eager to hear all about your day while enjoying a good ear or chin rub on the couch. She will also be more than happy to give you a full report on all the wildlife activity going on through the window. She's looking for her forever home where she can bring her own unique charm and joie-de-vivre to your household. This affectionate nine-year-old short-haired tuxedo would be a purrfect pet/companion, so many benefits and no calories.

This beautiful, long-haired girl arrived at the Shelter with five newborn kittens which she lovingly raised even though she's barely out of kittenhood herself. A petite, strikingly marked feline, with large, clear green eyes, Belini is as refreshing as the peach infused champagne cocktail she shares her name with. After spending some time on the streets, it's time for her to become part of a household where she can be free of the fear of where the next meal is coming from. With a little love, compassion and understanding, you will be giving this year and a half old an opportunity to return that generosity with a lifetime of loyal devotion. Do you have room in your heart and home for this survivor?

This darling boy was discovered outside a restaurant, begging politely for food. He was skinny, yet he came up to the Volunteers and rubbed against them, purring away, flopping on the sidewalk to offer his belly. Then, he walked right into the carrier! Mike is a sleek, shorthaired black cat with a spot of white on his throat and golden eyes. He is only a year old and deserves to live somewhere safe from the dangers of life on the streets. He would like nothing better than to greet you, spend his day keeping you company or perching on a windowsill, waiting for you to return, maybe for a game or two, or just to hang out. Stop by and shake paws with this former stray soon.

Ms. Suki is a lovely almost seven-year-old lady who is looking to find her permanent home with adults preferably. Her long black and white coat is just the thing to soothe any daily stresses away with a gentle brushing. She really enjoys a good head/ear rub and is a fan of the ear tickle too. At seven, she has learned all her manners and is respectful of your space and possessions. In return for a safe and secure home, she will be delighted to offer her love and loyal companionship. She has been calm, almost serene here at the Shelter, appreciative of any attention offered. Don't miss a chance to meet this lady.

A strikingly marked Tabby cat, Keiko is five-years-old and was surrendered with her companion, Butchie. Some cats, like people, are shy and really need a quiet home where they can be seen, yet not necessarily interact at close range. Keiko is a cat who in her heart wants to be secure in a home and when she truly feels comfortable, she will make that first step to cross the feline/human friendship line. Someone with the time, patience and compassion to understand her need for some distance will be the right match to either encourage her to bond or to feel comfortable with her free-spirit status within their home.

This handsome, medium-haired black & white male cat is on the reserved side, yet has been known to seek attention, tapping Volunteers on the shoulder when they are attending to his neighbors. There is a forever friend here for someone with the time, patience and compassion to allow Chet to find his comfort zone in the human world. As a former stray, we have no way of knowing what his prior experiences were. His golden eyes have a guarded look at first; however, after a softly spoken word or two and the offer of a finger he has extended a paw without claws. He is a valiant soul and at seven years old, it's truly time for him to feel safe, secure and most of all, loved and part of a family who understands his need for space. A spoonful of patience helps any friendship grow. Will you be the person to invite Chet to be your forever feline friend? He will be waiting to meet you. Come by and introduce yourself. Chet is 7 years old.

This handsome five-year-old male orange Tiger cat shares his companion Keiko's reserved nature. Adopted from the Shelter 4 years ago, he was surrendered with Keiko and is hoping to find someone who can relate to his need for a quiet home where he can enjoy a sunny window sill, comfy couch and a couple of hiding places to acclimate to your routine. Shy cats are not anti-social or unfriendly. If you appreciate feline company that doesn't necessarily include affectionate head butts, leg rubs or demands for petting, consider offering a home to Butchie and/or Keiko. They may sit in the same room with you after acclimating, perhaps settling on a chair while you watch TV, or watching you go about your routine from a stairstep. Few things are as rewarding as seeing a shy cat lose its guardedness bit by bit. Give one or both of these two young cats a chance to flourish in a "silent partner" environment. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
